21 - University Forum: The Power of Playful Pedagogy, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, ASC Ballroom. Lunch provided. Participants in this half-day workshop will take a hands-on approach to experiencing the value of play in teaching. The workshop will give participants actionable ideas, basic tools and structures, techniques, designs, approaches, and constructs for implementing play in their classrooms. Hosted by Dr. David Thomas, Executive Director of Online Programs at the University of Denver and Assistant Professor Attendant in the Department of Architecture, and Dr. Lisa Forbes, Assistant clinical Professor in the Counseling Program at the University of Colorado Denver. 6-7, IEEE Women in Bioinformatics Workshop. A two-day interdisciplinary workshop that brings together researchers from fields such as computer science, data science, mathematics, statistics, biology, genomics, biotechnology, and chemistry to showcase their work in bioinformatics. This event is women-organized, and all speakers are women to promote the work of female researchers in this field - however attendance to all sessions is open to researchers from all genders. To register for this event and to submit an abstract or paper for consideration, click here. (FDG funded--S.
