Students may be eligible to receive Latin Honors for an undergraduate degree based on their cumulative grade point average.
Latin Honors Eligibility:
- 3.50-3.69 (Cum Laude)
- 3.70-3.89 (Magna Cum Laude)
- 3.90-4.00 (Summa Cum Laude)
Eligible students may be recognized at Honors Convocation and Commencement based on their GPA at the time of the ceremony. However, Latin Honors are officially awarded only after degree completion and are recorded on the student's official transcript and diploma. To qualify for Latin Honors, students must earn at least 45 credits at Southern toward their undergraduate degree.
