At Southern, we understand that every individual family’s financial situation is different and that circumstances can change after your FAFSA information has been reported. We strive to be as accommodating to your particular situation as possible when determining your financial aid award. Therefore, if the information submitted on the FAFSA is no longer an accurate representation of your family’s current financial situation, please let us know. Some examples could include but are not limited to:
- Recent death of a parent
- Significant changes in family income
- Large medical or dental expenses not covered by insurance
- Inability to add parents to the FAFSA due to abuse, neglect, unknown parentage, etc.
If you have experienced one of the above situations due to COVID-19, please fill out and sign the 2021-2022 COVID-19 Request for Additional Financial Assistance Form for the Fall 2021, Spring 2022 and Summer 2022 semesters. Be sure to submit the form with all required documentation in one e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
