- Visit https://www.irs.gov > Get Your Tax Record > Get Transcript by Mail. It takes 5 to 10 calendar days for transcripts to arrive by mail.
Complete the requested information: Social Security number, date of birth, street address from latest tax return, etc.
- Under Type of Transcript, select Return Transcript.
- Under Tax Year it is important to select the year that is required for the appropriate FAFSA.
- When you receive the Tax Return Transcript by mail, please keep a copy for your records and submit a copy to the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships with your student ID number written at the top of the document.
Online
- Visit https://www.irs.gov > Get Your Tax Record > Get Transcript Online.
- Sign in with your User ID for the IRS. If you do not have a User ID, you must
create one.
- Complete the requested identity verification information: Social Security number, date of birth, street address from latest tax return, your personal account number from either a credit card, mortgage, home equity or car loan, and a mobile phone number with your name on the account. If the IRS cannot confirm your identity you will need to request the tax transcript by mail.
- Under Type of Transcript, select Return Transcript.
- Under Tax Year it is important to select the year that is required for the appropriate FAFSA.
- When you receive the Tax Return Transcript by mail, please keep a copy for your records and submit a copy to the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships with your student ID number written at the top of the document.
- If you did not file a federal tax return, you will be able to print an IRS letter than indicates that you did not file. Submit it to the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships with your student ID number written at the top of the document.
