SCSU has a long and successful record of energy efficiency in operations. The university continually improves energy efficiency in lighting, electrical, and mechanical systems throughout campus to optimize energy and financial savings and to reduce environmental impact.

Using a variety of approaches to improve efficiency, SCSU buildings have automated settings for temperature and lighting controls, overnight setbacks, as well as occupancy and other sensors to conserve energy. There is high efficiency lighting, like LED, throughout campus.
