Fill out the form at the link above if you wish to have your experience of sexual or relationship violence shared anonymously with attendees of the Virtual Take Back the Night. 

You may also attend a promotional table (see below) to write your story to be submitted.

Messages of support can look like: 

"___(name of org) stands with survivors," "I support you," "You are not alone,"  "Thank you for sharing your story with us,"  "You are brave,"  "Your strength is admirable,"  "We value you,"   "You are valid," "Your experience is valid," "You are worthy of feeling empowered," etc. 

These will be shared the video presentation at the Virtual Take Back the Night main event on April 12 at 7 pm.

Use the suggested script below to help us spread the word about the 23rd annual Take Back the Night!  

Record members of your org and post to Instagram and tag us @vpasscsu. 

“Hello, my name is ___ (your name) __ and I am the _(position)__ of (name of club/org) . April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Each year, the VPAS Center at Southern hosts Take Back the Night, which is the March, Rally and Speak Out event that aims to allow survivors to lift their voice, bring awareness to and show support to victims and survivors of sexual assault and relationship violence. This important event is a way for ALL owls to come together to uplift and listen to the stories of survivors. On April 12th there will be an in-person March and a virtual opportunity to listen to survivor stories. (name of organization)_ would like to show our support for this event and survivors and we hope you will too! April 12 at 2pm we will be meeting at the Buley Patio for the March and getting online to for the Virtual Rally and Speak Out at 7pm. Attend a promotional table to learn more about the event. At the tables, you will have the chance to participate in an activity where you can create supportive messages for survivors that will be displayed at the event. You will also be able to write and submit your survivor story to be read at the main event on April 12th (see below). 

Show Your Support at the March/Make a Sign to Showcase at the March! 

April 12 at 2 pm at Buley Patio

Meet us at Buley Patio between 1 –1:45 pm and make supportive signs to showcase your support for survivors at the March, leaving at 2 pm. 

At 2 pm we take to the streets and make it heard loud and clear that Southern Owls do not tolerate sexual violence! 

The March will end at the Residence Life Quad with the Tree Dedication.

Join us as we come together to honor the strength of survivors with a tree dedication that says to survivors, "We hear you. We believe you. We support you. You are not alone! "

Take Part in  #TBTNSCSU21 on Instagram!

Follow the VPAS Center @vpasscsu. On April 12th upload pictures of yourself and your organization members either participating making signs for march, marching, or wearing purple by using #TBTNSCSU21.

Join us as we virtually gather to hear a keynote speaker, submitted survivor testimonies, resources, and to support survivors in a collective healing space.
