A wide range of academic support and coaching, including tutoring in key areas such as math, writing, and the STEM disciplines, is available in the Center for Academic Success and Accessibility Services (CASAS). CASAS also offers a zen den/sensory space along with accommodations for testing and a low-noise environment.
Study Spaces provide you with the time, space, and opportunity to complete projects and essays, and study for your exams. Two of the most popular buildings for this purpose, both offering multiple study spaces are Buley Library (offering reserved group study rooms) and the Adanti Student Center. Commuter student lounges are located in the student center (Room 218) and Jennings Hall (room 136). Lounges and basement spaces are also available for study in the residence halls, while Farnham Hall Programming Space also has extended hours from Sunday, December 8 to Thursday, December 12 from 6pm - 1am.
This can be a very stressful time of year for students, and you may find yourselves battling colds or other ailments. We have great support if you are struggling with your mental health or feeling ill. You may also contact our Wellbeing Center for support. See tips on self-care and managing stress.
If you are “stuck” and aren’t sure where to turn, reach out to the many individuals who are here to help, including Peer Mentors and INQ Professors for first-year students, Residence Life staff for residential students, coaches for athletes, and University Access Program advocates for students associated with these programs. See a comprehensive list of campus resources that can lend assistance.

As finals approach, we understand the pressures you may be feeling. Taking care of your wellbeing is essential for staying focused and performing your best.
Aim for 7-9 hours of rest each night. Sleep supports focus, memory, and resilience.
Incorporate movement into your day. Even a short walk or stretch can boost energy and reduce tension.
Drink water and fuel your body with balanced meals. Avoid over-relying on caffeine or sugary snacks.
Break up study sessions with short, meaningful pauses. Step outside, stretch, or listen to music to recharge.
Reduce stress by limiting news and social media consumption. Give yourself space to focus and reset.
Share your thoughts and feelings with friends, family, or a supportive community. Connection helps you process emotions and feel less alone.

Try breathing exercises or mindfulness techniques to stay grounded. Even a few moments of calm can help.
Break your workload into manageable chunks. Use a schedule or to-do list to stay on track and avoid feeling overwhelmed.
Recognize your progress, no matter how small. Celebrate milestones to keep yourself motivated.
Be kind to yourself. Not everything will go perfectly, and that’s okay. Focus on doing your best, not perfection.
Take a moment to enjoy activities you love, like reading, drawing, or playing music. Doing something joyful can reset your mind.
If you're feeling overwhelmed, don’t hesitate to seek help. Visit JED’s Finals Stress Resources or connect with Counseling Services. We’re here to support you.
