
Southern has a strong history of engaging students with both undergraduate and graduate research opportunities. Working directly with faculty mentors, students are given the chance to lead the way to address significant issues from climate change to social justice to ensuring optimal teaching practices. Souther provides students with the skills learned in research methods courses to tackle these and other problems facing our communities today.
From a recent student research survey, students report they are authoring or co-authoring with faculty on a number of conference presentations, posters, books, book chapters and peer-reviewed articles.
