Career Pathways in Interdisciplinary Studies Course (IDS 321)

The Interdisciplinary Studies program offers IDS scholars the opportunity to enroll in a 1-credit career readiness seminar IDS 321 Career Pathways in Interdisciplinary Studies. In collaboration with Career and Professional Development, this unique 8-week course allows IDS juniors and seniors an opportunity for professional development and career exploration, and assists scholars in preparing for a dynamic job market and/or graduate and professional studies. As part of the online 8-week course, Interdisciplinary Studies scholars explore various professional paths based on their unique self-designed major and individual skills. 

IDS Scholars who participate in IDS 321 will enhance their career readiness for a modern workforce, and: 

  • Understand what employers are looking for in new hires
  • Market and apply their academic skills and experiences and unique degree 
  • Prepare to apply to graduate or professional programs
  • Explore different career opportunities
  • Develop interview skills, cover letters and resume

IDS 321 is offered in the fall semesters online, during the second eight weeks of the semester and is available to Interdisciplinary Studies juniors and seniors.
