Create Your Own Major: Create Your Interdisciplinary Studies Plan
Create Your Interdisciplinary Studies Plan
Students will work one-on-one with their faculty or program advisor to develop a unique course of study that makes up their Interdisciplinary Studies degree. Students create their own major based on their academic, personal and professional interests. With the help of their advisor, students will explore their academic and professional goals and outline a program of study that will help them achieve those goals. After creating their own major and graduation plan, students will continue to work with their faculty or program advisor (through graduation) as they explore additional hands-on learning experiences, including internships, cooperative education opportunities, and study abroad options. Additionally, students will work with their advisor and the Office of Career and Professional Development to begin preparing for their post-graduation career or graduate study.
The flexibility of the Interdisciplinary Studies program may also allow students have an academic program that can adapt as their needs or goals change, as they gain insight and experience. Working with their faculty or program advisor, students can make thoughtful and intentional adjustments to their degree plan that better align with their evolving goals or aspirations.
