New Students

Are you a newly admitted first-year (freshman) or transfer student with questions/concerns about your first semester course schedule? Read below for information!

After you register for New Student Orientation (NSO) and complete your placements for Math and English, a member of the Academic Advising team will reach out to you by email to send you more information about your fall semester schedule! We anticipate that class registration will begin in late May. Your schedule will be based on your major, your English and Math placements, course availability, and the information you provide when you register for NSO! Once your schedule is created, an Academic Advisor will contact you at your Southern email account with all of the information you need regarding you first semester classes!

There is no need to schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor. All you need to do is register for NSO and complete your English and Math placements and we'll take care of the rest!
