New Students

Are you a newly admitted first-year (freshman) or transfer student with questions/concerns about your first semester course schedule? Read below for information!

Course Withdrawals 
First-year students (freshmen) in their first semester are required to connect with their INQ Instructor if they would like to withdraw from a course. 

 

CHANGING YOUR MAJOR
If you are a new first-year student (freshman) and would like to change your major, we encourage you to first speak with a member of the Academic Advising Team so that you can make a well-informed decision and discuss any potential schedule changes. You can visit our "Meet with an AAC Advisor" page for information on how to meet with an advisor.

To schedule your academic advising appointment. you must first pay your admissions deposit through the Undergraduate Admissions Portal. Once your deposit is paid, you will be able to register for your advising meeting through the Undergraduate Admissions Portal or by using the "Schedule My Transfer Advising Meeting" button below.  During this appointment with an academic advisor, you will:  

  • discuss how your credits transferred and what requirements remain  

  • review a pathway toward graduation  

  • learn about important University resources  

  • register for your first semester classes  
       

To schedule your academic advising appointment: 

  • Click the "Schedule My Transfer Advising Meeting" button below and sign in.   

  • Select "Academic Advising" under "What type of appointment would you like to schedule?"

  • Select "NEW FALL 2021 Transfer Student Advising" under "What would you like to do?" 

  • Select "New Transfer Student On-Boarding" for "Choose a service"

  • Follow the remaining prompts to schedule an appointment 

  • View Additional Details for information on how to access the virtual remote appointment
