The Division works collaboratively with all divisions across the university to impact scholars, employees, and external community members. The Division includes the followings units and areas of work within the university.

The Office of Diversity & Equity Programs
This Office of Diversity & Equity Programs is responsible for diversity and equity compliance initiatives and programs at Southern Connecticut State University. We provide support and advice to all university offices on recruitment and retention issues, sexual harassment prevention training, diversity, discrimination and harassment, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and Title IX.

Center for Intercultural Engagement
The Center for Intercultural Engagement aims to impact campus climate and co-curricular experience for scholars by integrating intercultural competency, development, and leadership opportunities within the university community. CIE is currently home to three cultural spaces open to all members of the university—the Interfaith Center, Multicultural Center, and the Sexuality and Gender Equality Center.

Faculty & Staff Recruitment and Retention Initiatives
The Division works to support the employee lifecycle of faculty and staff through recruitment, onboarding, engagement, learning and development, and more at Southern. Through various programs, services, and staff members, the division works to cultivate positive environments for all employees.

Student Academic and Curricular Initiatives
The Division works to cultivate and impact inclusive learning environments and student success outcomes for undergraduate and graduate scholars at the university. Through various programs, services, and staff members, the division works to yield positive impacts on the academic experience of the university.

Education, Community Climate, and Restorative Practices
The division offers various trainings that offer individuals and groups opportunities to reflect on their identities, experiences, and previous learnings while also providing opportunities for new learnings. Additionally, the division monitors various instances of bias that impact community wellbeing and climate and leverages restorative practices to build and enhance community at the university.

Integrated Justice and Social Change Collaborative
The Integrated Justice and Social Change Collaborative is an interdisciplinary, people-first initiative dedicated to holding space for conversation, connection, and engaged action. The goal is to foster a deeper sense of community among the people, organizations, and places around us.
