Welcome to the Department of Psychology. This section contains all the information for current students, faculty, and staff.
Dear Psychology Majors and Minors,
In response to the Faculty Senate's Resolution on expanded pass/fail grading options for the Spring 2020 semester, the Psychology Department has passed the following motion, explaining exactly how changing to a pass/fail option will affect your Psychology courses:
Due to the unprecedented disruption experienced by students and faculty, due to the COVID 19 pandemic necessitating the movement of all courses to online, all students enrolled in undergraduate psychology courses during the Spring 2020 semester may elect to complete any of those course using the pass/fail option passed by the University Faculty Senate. Additionally, a grade of 'pass' in a Psychology course from Spring 2020, will be considered to meet the requirement of a grade of C or better in all courses counted toward the Psychology major, AND the requirement of a B- or better, in two courses beyond PSY 100 for acceptance to a Psychology Major.
Simply put, all students who opt for a pass/fail grade in a Psychology course taken during the Spring 2020 semester WILL receive credit toward the major or minor.
Students are encouraged to consult with their instructors and/or advisors prior to opting for the pass/fail option. For more information and for application forms to select the pass/fail option please click on the link below:
