University Assistant – School of Graduate and Professional Studies

(This is a temporary, part-time position which may be renewed at the discretion of the University.)

15hrs/week, to be scheduled in consultation with SGPS

The University Assistant (UA), in consultation with the Associate Dean of Graduate Enrollment Management, assists in providing technology-based analysis of graduate program admissions business practices, processes, and problems for all graduate degree and credit-bearing certificate programs and must possess thorough knowledge of the Slate system. It requires specific expertise in the field of graduate admissions and the functionality of Slate. Must be comfortable working with information technology staff, end users, and stakeholders. This position is an in-person, part-time, 15-hour/week position appointed annually.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with building, updating, and maintaining application decision processes, including checklists per population, reader bins and forms, print and electronic admission, and releasing admission decisions.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and triaging Slate and technical issues as they arise; resolve or refer to CRM Coordinator, as needed; respond quickly to urgent requests from programs.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of Slate, including structures, tables, forms, data integrity and security, flow of data across processes/units, department security/user profiles, etc.
  • Evaluate newly released Slate features and tools to continually assess unused resources. Recommend relevant projects and feature enhancements to SGPS and CRM Coordinator. Assists with all aspects of feature and process design and implementation to meet deadlines and strategic needs.
  • Assists the SGPS administration in the creation and maintenance of Slate-hosted applications and forms to ensure accuracy and support of all strategic initiatives; update regularly.
  • Assist with material processing for graduate admission.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with accessibility laws and policies in all developed resources.
  • Assist with creation, editing, formatting, and testing Slate communications via email, voice, SMS, etc.
  • Assist the CRM Coordinator with updates and maintenance, and standard reports for tracking and assessing admission data and results.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, and knowledge of the Technolutions Slate CRM.  Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with students, faculty, and staff; strong writing and organizational skills.  Demonstrated ability to master detailed information and apply it consistently.  Strong attention to detail and accuracy.  Strong analytical and interpretive skills.  Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: SQL, systems/technology integration, spreadsheets, database applications, programming/scripting, HTML, XML, and other web technologies is preferred.  Credentials and/or experience substantially comparable to the above may also be considered.
