Category: Part-Time (9-10 hours per week)

Position Overview

The University Assistant will support the EdD Coordinator in the Department of Educational Leadership & Policy Studies at Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU). This position provides administrative, operational, and programmatic support for the EDL EdD hybrid program. The role is designed to ensure smooth operations and enhance the efficiency of the program's daily activities.

Position Description

  • Assists in scheduling meetings, appointments, and events for the EdD program.
  • Assists with maintaining and organizing program files, records, and databases.
  • Assists with distributing correspondence, memos, and other communications.
  • Assists in preparing and disseminating program-related materials, including newsletters, brochures, and reports.
  • Assists with logistical arrangements for program events, workshops, and seminars.
  • Assists in the planning and execution of student engagement activities.
  • Assists in updating and maintaining the program’s website and social media channels.
  • Assists in developing promotional materials and strategies to enhance program visibility.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an academic or educational setting is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those described above as needed.
  • BS Degree or higher.

Additional Information

  • Work Schedule: 9-10 hours per week, flexible to accommodate the assistant’s academic schedule.
  • Location: on-campus work
