Position Summary
The university assistant (UA) will assist with providing administrative support to The Executive Director of the Division of Research and Innovation (DRI) and the general support to the SCSU Innovation Hub.
Daily tasks for the selected candidate will include support for all research and innovation services provided by DRI or the SCSU Innovation Hub to faculty and students including, but not limited to, scheduling and coordination of events, data and budget entry, communications, and other routine office support as determined by the Executive Director.
Specific Responsibilities
- Ensure confidentiality in compliance with the university policies.
- Assist with scheduling meetings, appointments, and events.
- Assist with maintaining and organizing files, records, and databases.
- Assist with distributing correspondence, memos, and other communications.
- Assist with disseminating program-related materials, including newsletters.
- Assist with logistical arrangements for program events, workshops, and seminars.
- Assist with ongoing updates and maintenance of DRI website and social media channels.
Qualifications
- Applicants must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a tactful and professional manner.
- The chosen UA should be well versed in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- A background or experience in accounting or business management is strongly preferred. Those with a background in or interest in STEM, research, or emerging technology also highly encouraged to apply.
- UA must be available to work 19 hours per week during regular business hours (i.e., 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m, Monday-Friday).
