The University Assistant (UA) is under the supervision of the Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning with administrative duties related to the Center. The hourly rate for this position is $22-$25 an hour.

Position Description

Assists the Center Director and other staff in the performance of essential tasks including but not limited to coordinating and connecting with appropriate faculty, staff, students, and community members at SCSU and beyond.

Assist with marketing, monitoring, and supporting students and community members enrolled in Center programs. 

Assists in maintaining the Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning website, listserv, and social media with materials that provide current and essential information on programs and services provided by the center. 

Assists in the preparation of assembling data and reports when needed.

Assists in general office coverage, in-person, on the phone, and electronically as determined by the Director.

Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those described above as needed.

Qualifications

Individuals with backgrounds and experience in education, counseling, social work, and related fields are highly desirable; moreover, applicants must be interested in education and helping students, faculty, and community members.

Applicants must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, creative problem-solving skills, and an ability to lead high-level group projects. Able to perform assignment with limited supervision

The chosen university assistant should be well versed in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

BS Degree or higher.
