University Assistant – Center for Academic Success and Accessibility Services (CASAS) in Accessibility Services

The University Assistant for Accessibility Services assists the CASAS Associate Director of Accessibility Services in the delivery of reasonable and appropriate accommodations, services and supports for students with disabilities to ensure equal access to the academic and nonacademic offerings of the University. University Assistant appointments are 19 hours per week and may be up to one (1) year in length, may not exceed beyond a single fiscal year, but may be eligible for renewal annually.

Specific Duties

The UA will assist the Associate Director of Accessibility Services within CASAS by performing the following duties:

  1. Assists with intake and follow-up meetings with students and families.
  2. Assists with students, faculty and staff to ensure approved accommodations are properly implemented.
  3. Supports students in managing their accommodations.
  4. May assist in responding to student, faculty and staff inquiries regarding the scope and limitations of approved accommodations.
  5. Connects students to other CASAS and University resources, services and supports.
  6. Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those enumerated above which do not alter the basic level of responsibility of the position.
