Summary
Through innovative and best practices, the Alumni and Donor Engagement team inspires philanthropy from and engagement of alumni and donors for the benefit of our students and the University’s mission. Focused on creating opportunities for lifelong and meaningful relationships with University stakeholders, this team is a conduit to connect our internal and external constituencies.
This part-time position, reporting to the Associate Vice President for Alumni and Donor Engagement, will provide essential support to the Offices of Alumni Relations, Donor Relations, and Annual Giving. The role involves assisting personnel in these offices with immediate tasks and ongoing projects aligned with their strategies and goals. Key responsibilities include contributing to efforts that create meaningful opportunities for alumni, students, and campus partners to engage with the Southern Connecticut State University community. The position also supports initiatives to enhance annual campaigns, multimedia communications, and donor interactions, fostering a strong and lasting connection with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Provides limited support for digital and web-based communications, including tasks related to MyEmma, ThankView, Hustle, the SCSU website, and other applications or software as directed by the Alumni and Donor Engagement team.
- Assists with basic operations of software and cloud-based platforms such as Raiser's Edge NXT, NextGen, and other systems. Responsibilities may include list generation, data entry, and running pre-defined reports, under the guidance of staff.
- Supports Alumni Association, Alumni and Donor Engagement, and Institutional Advancement events by assisting with specific aspects of planning and execution as directed.
- Assists with drafting and editing short written communications, such as emails, letters, newsletters, or event invitations, for annual giving, donor relations, and alumni relations.
- Provides project-based support to the Institutional Advancement focusing primarily on tasks related to alumni engagement, donor relations, fundraising, and other areas, as assigned.
- Assist with the management of student workers assigned to the Alumni & Donor Engagement team.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those above which do not alter the basic level of responsibility of the position.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Demonstrated knowledge and ability in the use of personal computer equipment and standard office software such as Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated proficiency in professional writing.
