The primary responsibility is to manage the business operations and support functions of the IT department. May supervise professional staff, University Assistants, and student employees.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manages and assists with business operations and support functions for the Information Technology department.
  • Performs information technology purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset inventory, logistical, administrative, and related support activities.
  • Monitors and assists in the preparation of IT budgets and accounting.
  • Prepares annual IT operating and capital budgets.  Provides required tracking and reporting of budgets.
  • May assist in the preparation and review of acquisition paperwork (e.g., RFPs) for information technology equipment and services.
  • May provide IT contract administration for the campus as assigned, and coordinate when appropriate with outside agencies/organizations/vendors.
  • Manages and assists with workflow processes including logging, distribution, tracking, and follow-up of business transactions.
  • May supervise support personnel as assigned.
  • Assists in the development of and adherence to policies and procedures related to information technology.
  • Maintains records and provides reports associated with the responsibilities of this position.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those described above which do not alter the basic level of responsibility of the position.

Qualifications

Requires bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of professional experience in administrative support or business operations in a large organization. Prefer expert proficiency with modern business and technology systems/applications. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
