University

Department

The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is an NCAA Division II program and a member of the Northeast 10 Conference. Consisting of 19 athletics teams, SCS's outstanding program continually ranks among the top NCAA Division II programs in the nation and also boasts a long record of dominance in the Northeast for both team and individual championships. The Owls rank among the top 10 nationally with 81 individual titles and in team championships with 10 titles. SCSU had NCAA championships representation in seven sports in 2021-22 and also ranked among the top half of all Division II programs in the Learfield Sports Cup for the 17th straight year.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to on-field coaching, recruiting, fundraising, off-season training, assisting with administrative duties, academic oversight, and community engagement activities. Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with the NCAA, Northeast 10 Conference and University regulations. Successful completion of the NCAA certification exam and timely submission of all required paperwork. Reports to the Head Coach and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.

Qualifications

Master's degree preferred for coaches and five (5) years of appropriate professional-level experience. Commitment in following the letter and spirit of NCAA, Conference, and University rules and regulations. Ability to effectively work with a diverse population of student-athletes and coaches in a cultural climate that celebrates diversity. These qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate alternate experience.

Salary

Commensurate with experience.
