Position Title: Graduate Assistant - Recruitment

First Year Admissions is looking for a graduate student interested in working with high school students, teachers, and counselors. This position works closely with our Associate Director of Admissions. The person would represent the university at local college fairs, visit high schools, give presentations to prospective students and families. This position will also learn about college admissions as they will be trained on rendering decisions. This position is 10 or 20 hours a week.

Responsibilities

• Represent Southern Connecticut State University at High Schools and College Fairs (in Connecticut)

• Assist with Rendering decisions on first-year applications

• Assist with answering questions via email or phone

• Attend Open House and Accepted Student Day

Qualifications

• Must be a degree-seeking graduate student registered for a minimum of six credits.

• Must maintain a 3.00 GPA for continued employment.

• Must have strong organizational skills

• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Must possess a valid driver's license

• Must possess working knowledge of technology; including Microsoft Office suite.
