The Associate Director of Continuing Education and Community Engagement leads in the development, marketing, and implementation of special credit and non-credit outreach programs servicing the continuing learning needs of various populations served by SCSU. Responsible for identifying and developing revenue-generating programs that support the mission of the University.

Position Responsibilities

Develops and coordinates non-credit offerings, conferences, seminars, and related programs, including but not limited to, promotion, budgeting, scheduling, registration, and staffing.

Conducts needs assessments and marketing surveys and analysis to identify appropriate, financially viable academic programs. Develops and implements appropriate, cost-effective marketing plans to promote the Center's academic programs. Determines noncredit and professional development training, events, and programs offered based on the interests of populations served.

Under the direction of the Director, develops a business plan for the noncredit and professional development programs and establishes and manages the program's budget. Assists in conference development, negotiation of contracts, budgeting, scheduling, problem-solving, and the development of coordinated systems for such programs.

Recommends noncredit fees structure to the Director, determines locations, times, and program delivery logistics. May establish training titles.

Maintains constructive relationships and effective communication with noncredit instructors, faculty, staff, and students, administrative offices, academic departments, businesses, workforce, and community groups and agencies.

Performs other duties related to those above which do not alter the basic level of responsibility of the position.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Adult Education, or a comparable degree. Four (4) years of professional experience in the development and promotion of non-credit programs, training, and development or the equivalent. Experience in budget development and management and demonstrated ability to develop and implement marketing and promotion programs. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people, including professionals in business and higher education. Ability to use standard business software, e.g., Word, Excel, etc., and a demonstrated proficiency in technology literacy, including the use of digital tools and platforms relevant to program development and marketing. Preference for experience with enrollment management technology. Credentials and/or experience substantially comparable to the above may also be considered.
