The Assistant Director of Integrated Communications & Marketing for Website Information serves as the University’s website public information and social media specialist; serving as editor and designer for projects including but not limited to, the online publications of University Information, publications, announcements and campus news.
Position Responsibilities
Serves as the Integrated Communications & Marketing website information manager and social media specialist, providing the University with services necessary for maintaining and developing the public information posted on the University’s website and social media websites.
In partnership with communications staff, defines and executes social media strategies. Responsible for generating relevant content while tracking metrics and analyzing trends.
Assists in developing and recommending appropriate policies that govern the public information aspect of the University’s website.
Works with campus offices and departments in developing and posting appropriate academic departmental programmatic information.
Responsible for all aspects of website creation and maintenance including writing official statements, online introductions and explanations pertaining to the University website, formatting and editing existing official text, creating original graphics and altering existing graphics for web display, search engine optimization, and organizing the official website and its site map.
Works under project coordinators in the Integrated Communications & Marketing department to develop and complete specific online projects.
Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those described above which do not alter the basic level or responsibility of the position.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required; master’s degree preferred. Three (3) years of professional web design and maintenance experience, including experience with digital publication to web-ready conversions. Knowledge of social media platforms. Ability to write and edit in a manner commensurate with University standards. Ability to produce web-ready publications. Experience with Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop, FTP and web applications, including content management systems. These qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate alternate experience.
