The School of Business has experienced increasing enrollments and external fundraising success and has occupied Connecticut’s first Net Zero Energy (NZE) building, which is also the first in the state. The School of Business stands tall as a four-story, 60,000-square-foot building with a 1,500-square-foot community room, a vibrant hub for up to 100 individuals.
Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities
Southern invites applications from individuals who believe in the mission of public higher education and are committed to outstanding teaching and scholarship/creative activity. Successful candidates will be disciplinary scholars devoted to a student-centric approach.
The Department of Management/IB seeks a qualified faculty member to fill a full-time, tenure- track position beginning in August 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels; teaching responsibilities may include evenings and weekends. Scholarly activities, productive service, and student advisement are required; engagement with the business community is expected.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must demonstrate their ability to meet the School of Business faculty qualification standards. All candidates must demonstrate evidence of their ability to teach effectively at the university level to a diverse group of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as their ability to teach hybrid and online/on-ground classes.
Candidates must demonstrate an ability to engage in meaningful scholarship. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
A doctorate in international business or other closely related field is required, preferably from an AACSB-accredited institution. ABD applicants will be considered. An earned doctorate must be completed within two years of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to a candidate who can demonstrate their qualifications and experience in teaching several or more of our existing undergraduate or graduate courses. Preference will be given to a candidate with an earned MBA.
