Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities

The Department of Business Information Systems is seeking to fill a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor to begin Fall 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in business information systems, including but not limited to areas such as data management, business analytics, systems analysis and design, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies in business. In addition to teaching responsibilities, faculty are expected to contribute to scholarship and/or creative activity, provide service to the department and University, actively participate in the professional community, and advise students. While the standard teaching load is 12 credits per semester, opportunities for reassigned time for research are available.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate in Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, or a closely related field (ABDs considered if degree will be completed within two years of the start date).
- Background in areas such as business analytics, AI, machine learning, or data management.
- Ability to teach and develop curriculum in business information systems and related topics.
- Commitment to high-quality teaching, scholarship, and ethical practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional or industry experience applying analytics, AI, or related technologies in business information systems settings.
- Evidence of scholarly activity, publications, or applied projects.
- Experience working with students in applied research, projects, or capstones.
- Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and engagement with business or community organizations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to make complex topics accessible to diverse learners.
