One Computer per Faculty
SCSU follows a 'one computer per person' standard. Additional computers or enhancements to the standard must be approved by the Deans and IT, identify a funding source, follow proper procurement procedures, have a sustainability plan, comply with all end-of-life criteria, adhere to IT standards, and the computer must be managed and secured by IT. Any computers that were improperly procured must be returned to the vendor or surrendered to IT.
Computer Use Policy and Management
All SCSU computers must regularly check into the current client management suite and comply with all assigned configuration profiles, settings, and security applications. All users and usage of SCSU computers must adhere to CSCU IT policies. CSCU IT Policies includes IT-001, IT-002, and IT-004.
IT-001: CSCU Acceptable Use Policy (https://www.ct.edu/files/pdfs/5.3.a Acceptable Use IT-001.pdf)
IT-002: Electronic Communication Policy ( https://www.ct.edu/files/it/BOR_IT-002.pdf)
IT-004: CSCU Information Security Policy ( https://www.ct.edu/files/it/BOR_IT-004.pdf)
Maintenance and Replacement
Computers that need attention prior to the refresh cycle will be repaired or replaced as needed. This ensures faculty members have the necessary tools to perform their work efficiently at all times.
