Classroom Technology

Southern CT State University is committed to the modernization, standardization, and sustainability of all technology enhanced spaces on campus. The rooms can be grouped in three different categories - Modern Classroom (newest design), Legacy Classroom (modern design), and Push-Button classrooms (oldest - need upgrades).

Modern Classrooms (Standard):

Our standard classroom design has been installed in all upgraded classrooms since 2016. These classrooms include a modern computer, Laptop HDMI hookup, Laptop VGA hookup, AppleTV wireless broadcasting, Miracast wireless broadcasting, and a document camera. Click here for a full list of the Modern Classrooms.

*The experience may vary slightly in each room*

Legacy Classrooms:

Our legacy classroom design was installed in classrooms renovated between 2014 and 2015. These classrooms will be upgraded to the standard design over the next few years. These classrooms include a modern computer, Laptop HDMI hookup, Laptop VGA hookup, and a document camera. Click here for a full list of Legacy Classrooms.

Push Button Classrooms:

Our Push Button classroom are the oldest classrooms on campus and are all programmed differently. Also, these rooms have minimal inputs and no HDMI connection. The IT department has provided external video switchers in most of these rooms so that faculty can have access to a room PC, laptop VGA connection, and a document camera. These rooms are NOT high definition rooms and are about 10-12 years old.

To turn on the system, use the system on button. If a white switch is present in the room, that device can be used to switch between VGA inputs. Input 1 is the room PC, input 2 is the laptop VGA cable, and input 3 is the document camera.
