BASICS Program

Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students

BASICS is an alcohol skills training program that aims at reducing harmful consumption and associated problems.

BASICS is a non-confrontational and nonjudgmental program consisting of two sessions where the student is given information and education around his/her drug or alcohol use.

The student is given feedback about ways to reduce future health risks associated with alcohol and or drug use and participates in online assessment tools called E-CHUG / E-TOKE which are brief and easy to use.

Referrals to BASICS

  • BASICS is a voluntary program for any student who is interested.
