
The university's Office of Online Learning is a collaborative effort between the Information Technology Department and Office of Academic Affairs. This office works closely with faculty and other administrative offices to assist in the development and support of technology enabled course delivery, and to help faculty develop their online teaching strategies and technical skills to achieve their educational goals.

The Office of Online Learning offers online trainings for faculty. The trainings include best practices in online and hybrid development as well as technical training in developing those courses in Blackboard Learn 9. The Office of Online Learning examines best practices related to online learning and provides information to the Provost Online Advisory Council, the Provost, Faculty, and Faculty Senate. Faculty members interested in best practices can contact the Office of Online Learning to learn more about best practices surrounding accessibility of online materials, student communication practices, and the best practices for the look and feel of online courses.

Established by the Provost and the CIO, the Online Advisory Council operates as an advisory board to examine and recommend institutional policies and practices for the development and implementation of quality online offerings that align with the mission of the university. The Office of Online Learning provides faculty with technical support for Blackboard Learn 9 through the IT Media & Instruction Specialist.
