Activities

Having a full social life is an integral part of the college student experience. The Office of Student Involvement and Leadership Development, through Programs Council, the Blue Crew, and countless other organizations, hosts a wide variety of events such as dance parties, concerts, movie nights, pep-rallies and bus trips. Many activities are free and open to all students.

Week of Welcome

Southern’s Week of Welcome serves to welcome new and returning students to the SCSU community and encourages all students to explore new opportunities for involvement and connections that will enhance their Southern experience. Held during the first week of each semester, the Week of Welcome features over fifty programs sponsored by a variety of departments, residence halls, offices, clubs and organizations. 

Homecoming

Homecoming is a time for students, faculty, and staff to come together to celebrate Southern, and has been a tradition with our university for over 35 years. It’s a time for our alumni to reconnect with their classmates, old friends, and current students, as well as enjoy a series of events that highlight the spirit and energy of the University.

Spring Week

Spring Week is a year-end celebration of the accomplishments, the culture and the community at SCSU.  Spring Week features a variety of events sponsored by a host of clubs, organizations and offices, and is typically anchored by the Spring Week concert.
