Marriage and Family Therapy Accreditation
Southern Connecticut State University’s (SCSU) MFT program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE), which is the sole accrediting agency of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Southern Connecticut State University’s MFT program received accreditation in September 1983 and is the oldest and longest-standing program among the five COAMFTE-accredited MFT programs in the State of Connecticut. In addition to being the oldest accredited program in the State of Connecticut, Southern's MFT program is one of the oldest COAMFTE accredited MFT programs in the world.
Southern Connecticut State University’s MFT program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE). COAMFTE accreditation is the seal of credibility, rigor and quality within MFT training programs. COAMFTE requires that all accredited programs post student achievement statistics.
