Marriage and Family Therapy Academic Requirements
Requirements for Successful Program Competition
The MFT Program follows the academic requirement policy of the Graduate School: Any matriculated student who attempts nine or more credits that results in a cumulative quality point ratio of less than 3.0 in an academic program is automatically on probation. If, after attempting an additional nine credits, the GPA is still below 3.0, the student will be dismissed from the School of Graduate Studies.
A student whose GPA falls below 3.0 during the last semester of course work will be placed on probation and given one semester to raise the GPA to the 3.0 level required for graduation. If, after completing an additional semester of work, the GPA is still below 3.0, the student will be dismissed.
Note: Any student dismissed from the MFT program for failure to meet academic or Attitudes and Dispositions standards may not reapply to be readmitted into the Marriage and Family Therapy Program at SCSU.
