Faculty Accomplishments Module (Activity Insight)
Watermark Faculty Success is an on-line information management system for organizing and reporting out on the teaching, research, and service activities of faculty. This database is easy to use, and accessible at any time, day or night, as long as there is an internet connection.
Storing information in Watermark Faculty Success enables you to keep track of your activity information just once so that you can prepare other reports, such as Faculty Annual Activity Reports (FAAR), promotion and tenure (CIF), your CV, your profile on our university website, and more.
To access Watermark Faculty Success, simply go to or enter www.southernct.edu/faar and a log in screen will appear. Here you will enter in your MySCSU username and password in the directed boxes. Once inside the system, the “Activities Menu” screen will appear. This screen is divided into 5 sections, with 31 different screens for storing information. Some fields will self-populate, while others will require data input or the selection of a response from a drop-down box or field.

Faculty Annual Activity Report (FAAR)
Faculty are asked to track and report on their teaching, research, and service activities by entering data into Watermark Faculty Success. Specific information is then pulled from designated fields and screens in Watermark Faculty Success to create the Faculty Annual Activity Report.
The FAAR provides your department chair and dean with essential information to inform their reporting and decision-making and provides you with the opportunity to reflect on your accomplishments and challenges during the year. In addition, these reports will assist programs as they prepare for and undergo the program review process.
Faculty are asked to enter information into Watermark Faculty Success on an on-going basis so that their FAAR is completed by June 30th of each year.
Web Profiles uses specific data from Watermark Faculty Success for reporting faculty activities in a designated space on the university’s website. Specifically, faculty biographical information and creative works entered in Watermark Faculty Success will appear on your official directory below your basic contact information on the website. The Watermark Faculty Success screens that are displayed on your public web profile are: Biographical Information, Publication/Books, Professional Presentations, Artistic and Professional Performances and Exhibits, and Contracts, Grants, and Sponsored Research.
Simply enter data in the fields contained within these five screens. Once data are entered, you will see it appear on your web profile. If information is missing in your web profile, please go back into Watermark Faculty Success and enter the data into the fields located within one or all five screens.

Workload Verification Process
The Faculty Workload Verification process is a multi-step system of recording and verifying each faculty member’s current and accumulated workload credits in Watermark Faculty Success. On your main Watermark Faculty Success Activities section, the following screens are used in the Faculty Workload Verification Process: Screen A.- Teaching Workload, Screen B.- Non-Teaching Workload, and Screen C. - Credit Load History and Remainder.
Step 1 asks chairs to collect, check, and organize the workload data of their FT teaching faculty. A faculty workload credit report template has been created for this purpose. These reports help OAA identify any corrections that need to be made in Watermark Faculty Success. Next, chairs are given Faculty Workload Summary reports. These reports reflect what is now in Watermark Faculty Success. If chairs find discrepancies or missing data in Watermark Faculty Success, they are to consult with the individual faculty member and the dean’s office to get the correct numbers. These newly reconciled numbers are then entered into Watermark Faculty Success in the proper box by the department chair. After completion of this step, FT Teaching faculty will have the opportunity to confirm their information in Screens A, B, and C.
