Assessment at SCSU is an ongoing cycle of inquiry, evidence gathering, analysis, and improvement that supports continuous institutional effectiveness. Assessment findings inform decision-making, strategic planning, resource allocation, accreditation, and initiatives that promote student success across the university.
The Office of Assessment and Planning collaborates with academic and administrative units to identify priorities, evaluate outcomes, and implement data-informed improvements. Assessment activities occur at multiple levels of the university - from individual courses, programs, and services to institution-wide initiatives and strategic goals- creating a coordinated approach to continuous improvement.
To evaluate outcomes and institutional effectiveness, the university uses multiple sources of evidence, including surveys, rubrics, performance-based assessments, and institutional data. Findings are shared with campus stakeholders and used to support timely decision-making, strengthen programs and services, and enhance the student experience.
