Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) seeks a creative and experienced leader to serve as Director of Academic Advising. Reporting to the Director of Social Work Field Education, the Assistant Director has a direct influence over experiential learning for senior BSW students and first year graduate students in the MSW program.  The Assistant Director cultivates and supports relationships with community partners within and outside of the Greater New Haven community.

Qualifications:

  •  MSW degree, LMSW preferred.
  • A minimum of three to five years of experience in higher education, teaching in undergraduate or graduate programs and/or working in field education and supervisory and practice experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
  • Capacity for working independently, for problem-solving, for supporting student retention.

These qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate alternate experience.
