Silver Leadership Workshops:

Silver Workshop 1: Foundations of Group Development and Teamwork (Teamwork, Leadership)

Workshop Description: Participants will explore Tuckman’s Five Stages of Group Development and identify ways leaders can use the various stages to their advantage. Participants will engage in activities that highlight what group members may experience during the various stages of group dynamics.

Silver Workshop 2: Purpose & Collaboration (Teamwork, Leadership)

Workshop Description: Participants will explore how effective collaboration impacts team dynamics. Students partaking in this session will better understand the roles that leaders and members take to achieve effective collaboration.

Silver Workshop 3: Group Facilitation (Teamwork, Leadership)

Workshop Description: One of the most important sets of skills for leaders are facilitation skills. These are the "process" skills we use to guide and direct key parts of our work with our team.  Participants will explore practical strategies for group facilitation and leading effective groups.

Silver Workshop 4: Team Building and Developing Community (Teamwork, Leadership)

Workshop Description: Participants will explore what it means to be a part of a community and will leave this session with a better understanding of how leaders can create welcoming and inclusive communities.

Silver Workshop 5: Strengthens Quest (Self and Career Development,

Workshop Description: Participants will identify their Strengths by participating in a web-based assessment. They will learn how to maximize their strengths and appreciate the different strengths of others. Participants will understand that teams work well when everyone can utilize their strengths to solve problems.

Silver Workshop 6: Controversy with Civility (Equity & Inclusion)

Workshop Description: Controversy with Civility recognizes two fundamental realities of any creative group effort: those differences in viewpoint are inevitable, and that such difference must be aired openly but with civility. In this workshop we will explore what this looks like.

Silver Workshop 7: Leading Inclusive Groups

Workshop Description: This workshop will empower leaders with the critical knowledge and skills needed to build more inclusive team. Students will examine their own assumptions and biases; analyze their own and others’ behaviors; and practice skills through engaging activities, insightful case studies, and practical self-assessment.
