Based on significant guidance from public health experts and in accordance with Governor Lamont’s ReOpen CT Advisory Committee plan, it has been determined that Southern will reopen its physical campus to residential and commuter students for fall 2020, with protocols in place. Fall classes will begin on August 26, following a staggered move-in for residence hall students.
Per the Report of the Higher Education Subcommittee submitted to the Governor on May 6, 2020, which set forth the guidance and requirements for colleges and universities to reopen undergraduate residential programs during the COVID-19 pandemic, Southern Connecticut State University has prepared a 4-Part Plan, outlining the senior administration’s plan and approach for reopening the campus for the fall 2020 semester (to view the XLS attachment in the PDF, please open the PDF using Acrobat Reader). The four plans outlined in this document include:
• A plan for repopulating the campus (the reentry of students)
• A plan for monitoring the health of students, faculty and staff
• A plan for containing cases that develop
• A plan for shutdown of the campus if it becomes necessary.
