Release of Records

Southern Connecticut State University is committed to the protection of education records, with respect to the privacy and disclosure rights afforded to students by the Family Educational Rights And Privacy Act (FERPA). 

Privacy Rights

Students may request that the University does not disclose directory information from their record.  To review the definition of directory information or complete a request to withhold this information from disclosure, please visit the Directory Information Policy.

Disclosure Rights

Students may also authorize the disclosure of academic and/or financial information to a parent, guardian, or other third party.  This may be authorized or revoked at anytime in Banner Web:

  • Log into Banner Web

  • Student Services

  • Grant Access to My Records

  • Select Financial, Academic, or Both

  • Set up a 4-digit access pin for the authorized user

Former Students

Former students may submit a Release of Educational Record request to Registrar@SouthernCT.edu.  A valid photo ID will be required to process the request.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, there may be a delay of 8-12 weeks to process records prior to 2002.  We appreciate your patience as our staff works remotely with limited access to archive records.
