Part-time (Non-Teaching) -Writing Specialists

The Academic Success Center and the Writing Center seek to hire several part-time writing specialists (tutors) pending budgetary approval. Especially desirable are individuals with experience and qualifications to tutor graduate level students on their writing of capstone projects and dissertations in Health and Human Services, Business, and Education. Specialists can work either 1 or 2 credits per semester.

 

A Master’s degree is required, and a Doctorate is preferred. A solid grasp of the academic writing process, and willingness to support graduate students at all levels in drafting, outlining, composing, researching, revising, citing, and using proper mechanics is required. Copy-editing may be appropriate for students who have attended at least three tutoring sessions. Preferred candidates will also indicate willingness and ability to help students across disciplines, and on-line.
