University Assistant - Student Accounts

(This is a temporary, part-time position, which may be renewed at the discretion of the University.)



Under the management of the Assistant Bursar- Accounts Receivable, the University Assistant (UA) responsibilities include the following:

  • Assist the Assistant Bursar- Accounts Receivable in reviewing past due accounts, application of past due holds, and assignment to contracted collection agencies. 
  • Contact past due students by phone, email and other means to alert them of their past due balance and discuss payment options.
  • Assist in enrolling students in past due payment plan arrangements and monitor arrangements to ensure they are completed.

The UA is expected to work 19 hours per week.  Work days will be established between the Assistant Bursar- Accounts Receivable and the successful applicant.



The University Assistant must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently with oversight in areas of responsibility. The UA must prioritize functional tasks and work successfully under pressure to meet deadlines. The UA must demonstrate computer skills, have experience with an ERP system and Microsoft Office products, and deploy excellent communication skills in the execution of the work.



An Associate’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution is preferred, as is accounting experience.



Depending on experience and credentials, the hourly wage range is $20 to $25 dollars.
