The Dean’s Office within the School of Graduate and Professional Studies (SGPS) is seeking a highly motivated University Assistant (UA) to oversee market research, data and trend analysis, and program development for the Dean’s office. The University Assistant will focus on conducting directed internal research on specific projects, analyzing market trends in graduate and professional education and training, and assist in preparing case studies and program proposals to inform the campus community and external stakeholders of potential programmatic opportunities as well as corporate partnerships. The chosen candidate will specifically conduct high level market research to drive the development, expansion, and promotion of graduate and professionally-oriented continuing education programming as a benefit to our current students and the professional community throughout the Southern Connecticut region. The University Assistant will analyze internal data and market trend research to drive recommendations on new programs and adjustments to current offerings in collaboration with the Deans and faculty members across campus.
Applicants should have prior office experience and a strong familiarity or educational background aligned with a business discipline and proficiency in various research methods and statistical analysis. The hired candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, creative problem solving skills, and an ability to lead high-level group projects with limited supervision in a tactful, strategic, and professional manner. The chosen UA should be well versed in spreadsheet software (i.e. Excel) and presentation software (i.e. PowerPoint, Prezi, and others) for analysis and dissemination of information respectively. Prior experience with project management, market research, and business communication in a professional corporate or educational setting is strongly preferred. The University Assistant must also be available to work 19 hours per week (Monday-Friday) between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Some weekend hours may be required and will be planned in advance.
