(This is a temporary, part-time, grant-funded position for the Academic Year 2021 – 2022 which may be renewed at the discretion of the University.)
The Assistant Director of External Relations is seeking a highly motivated University Assistant (UA) to coordinate special programs in the School of Business and with the Business Advisory Council. The part-time professional will assist in the facilitation of special programs and events such as the Women’s Leadership Program and professional development seminars to provide job readiness skills for students. Professional Development Programs include an Etiquette Dinner, Dress for Success event, and Power Networking. Special events include a Fall Business Leadership Breakfast, Public Utilities Management Leadership event, Conscious Capitalism Program as well as educational and networking events for the Business Advisory Council. In addition, the UA will be responsible for supporting tracking program deliverables and expenses. The UA will assist with outreach campaigns using social media and other communication tools to attract employers, potential donors, and alumni to engage with the School of Business. This position reports to the Assistant Director of External Relations. Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree and have prior professional experience and strong familiarity or educational background aligned with a business discipline. The hired candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, creative problem-solving skills, and a professional manner. The chosen UA should be proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, and Canva. Prior experience with marketing and business communication in a professional or educational setting is strongly preferred. The University Assistant must also be available to work 19 hours per week typically (Monday-Friday) between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., hours are flexible. Occasionally, attendance at special events will be required in the evening (1-2 x per semester). The rate for this position is $20/hour.
