University Assistant – School of Business Program for Women in Leadership

(This is a temporary, part-time position which may be renewed at the discretion of the University.)

Position Summary

The Business School at Southern Connecticut State University is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Assistant to support the Women in Leadership Program.  We offer a flexible, collegial, environment where we appreciate, respect and value the contributions of our colleagues.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of the Women’s Leadership program in executing workshops, offsite events, corporate training, student development and building an interdisciplinary Center for Women in Leadership.
  • Assist with the coordination of speakers for educational workshops held on campus and off.
  • Act as a liaison with the external community and corporate partners to promote engagement of the Program in the Greater New Haven Area; including the New Haven Chamber of Commerce.
  • Assist with student staff as well as key logistical and administrative activities that support the Women’s Program, including websites and social media management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Value alignment with the Mission of the Women’s Leadership program to promote social justice by providing educational, training and networking opportunities to for SCSU students, alumni and community supporters.
  • Ability to work in person (not remotely)
  • Proficient in all programs in Microsoft Office 360 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, complete tasks on time, and manage confidential information.
  • Ability to work closely, effectively, and compassionately with students, staff, faculty, directors, department chairs as well as university assistants and student workers.
