The School of Business at Southern Connecticut State University is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Student Success Coach to support the School, its launch of its student-centric Design Thinking and Platforms of Excellence initiatives, and its co-curricular Student Success Plan.

Within the scope of the School of Business’ Design Thinking and Platforms of Excellence initiatives, and its co-curricular Student Success Plan; the Student Success Coach will work closely with students utilizing personality profiling tools such as Prescriptive Index along with meeting with students each semester, to assist them with choosing activities that become a part of their professional development portfolio.

The Student Success Coach will provide coaching services that help students better identify themselves, consider what professional trajectory aligns with their self-inclination, self-actualize, consider how to become more fulfilled through the educational experiences, and choose co-curricular activities that provide a basis for their ongoing personal and professional development.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance towards administering and helping students understand results of personality tests, including Predictive Index and Myers Briggs;
  • Coach students throughout their Southern Connecticut State University journey, including meeting with all undergraduate students once per semester to provide guidance and advice concerning student immersion into the School of Business co-curricular Platforms;
  • Monitoring and maintaining records of all student interactions and elements that contribute towards the evolving Student Success Plan for all School of Business Undergraduate Students;
  • Ensure that all students have met the requirements of the Student Success Plan prior to graduation;
  • Contribute to the School of Business four Platforms of Excellence (Professional Enrichment, Experiential Education, Student Advancement, Career Springboard); and
  • Teach specific courses and/or seminars that related to student development and/or organizational behavior within the relevant field of expertise.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Management or a related field;
  • Four years previous experience working with and coaching students;
  • Demonstrated success in engaging with students, faculty members and community members;
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing and/or delivering co-curricular initiatives.

These qualifications may be waived for individuals with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
