The Associate Dean, School of Business (SOB), assists the Dean of the School of Business with the administration, operation, promotion and evaluation of programs, personnel and budgetary matters of the School, and works closely with Department Chairs and Program Directors to ensure effective and efficient operations. The Associate represents the Dean of the School as assigned by the Dean.

Position Responsibilities

Oversees and implements universal best practices of assessment in support of compliance with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) Assurance of Learning processes and accreditation standards. Develops and delivers micro-credential and professional development educational experiences.

Oversees and implements AACSB and International Ministry accreditation best practice approaches towards full compliance with accreditation.

Formulate and implement strategies to increase international engagement, collaboration and enrollment, both local and abroad.

Increase corporate engagement and collaboration between the school and the corporate sector and local, national, and global community.

Oversee faculty affairs.

Review and approve course schedules, teaching assignments, scholarship re-assigned time, and workload reports for all programs and faculty in the College.

Timely and professional response to the suggestions, inquiries and complaints of faculty and staff as assigned or approved by the Dean;

Oversees issues related to undergraduate and graduate academic programs, which may include student progress, student complaints, grade appeals, dismissals, academic misconduct.

May supervise professional and/or support staff;

Manages onboarding and training opportunities, particularly for full-time COB faculty.

Manages recruitment, registration, retention, degree completion and related communication initiatives. Compiles and analyzes data related to the operation of the College.

Prepares reports, proposals, presentations, information and materials requested by the Dean of the College.

Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those listed above which do not alter the basic level of the position.


An earned doctorate in a discipline housed in the School of Business; along with seven years of full-time experience in higher education is required. Experience at Associate Dean level or higher; faculty tenure and Associate rank or higher; evidence of successful university level teaching, scholarship, and service.

Demonstrated effectiveness with communication, time management, data management, and project management; and demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

Preferred: Fundraising achievements; STEM accomplishments. Significant accomplishments per initial attainment and maintenance of AACSB accreditation. Experience with grant seeking and proposal writing.

These qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate alternate experience.
