Part-time Lecturer - Journalism                                           
Specialization: Visual Journalism/Multimedia/Drones

 

The Journalism Department at Southern Connecticut State University invites applications for part-time adjunct teaching positions.  Successful candidates will be expected to teach one or two courses per semester in drone journalism & technology, photojournalism, layout and design, journalism technology (utilizing at least six different technology platforms) or multimedia journalism. Successful candidates must be committed to teaching within a vibrant public liberal arts and sciences environment and demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching, mentoring and research with undergraduates.

Professional journalism and hands-on experiences in the use of Premiere, Excel, content management systems (such as WordPress), the entire Adobe suite (most importantly Photoshop & InDesign (or comparable design software), and Audition is required. 

Preference will be shown to applicants with an advanced degree in journalism, photography, interactive communications or related field; and teaching experience at the college-level; and excellent language and communication skills necessary to convey complex technological ideas and instructions. Drone FAA 107 license or study toward this license is most desirable.
