Position Summary:

The Executive Director of Research and Innovation is seeking a highly motivated graduate assistant to provide support for a variety of research-driven projects, program development proposals, marketing initiatives, and general office administrative duties. The graduate assistant will provide support to all Division of Research and Innovation (DRI) affiliated offices with primary support to the Offices of STEM Innovation & Leadership (STEM-IL) and Sustainability.

The graduate assistant will be responsible for connecting with, monitoring, and supporting students in our programs. Additionally, the assistant will draft promotional content for a newsletter and provide input on design elements for the DRI website and social media. The daily tasks for the selected candidate will include support for all research and innovation services provided to both faculty and students including assistance with scheduling and coordination of events, collection and research of required application and resource materials, data and budget entry and other routine office support.


Applicants must be interested in education and helping students. Experience successfully supporting and interfacing with students is highly desirable as is an ability to lead high-level group projects with limited supervision in a tactful, strategic, and professional manner.

Furthermore, applicants must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, creative problem-solving skills, and an ability to lead high-level group projects. The chosen graduate assistant should be well versed in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Those with an educational background in business, marketing, creative writing, accounting or a background and/or interest in STEM are also highly encouraged to apply.

GA must be available to work 20 hours per week (Monday-Friday) between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Hours are flexible with significant remote work component expected.
