The Digital Production Facility serves as a classroom and hands-on production laboratory for students and faculty and is open for a significant amount of operational hours per week. The Director must be able to manage and supervise the operational aspects of the facility while enhancing the academic experience of the men and women staying true to our mission statements for all academic disciplines we encompass. Flexibility in working hours is a must to keep pace with the needs of the students and faculty.
Primarily responsible for management of facility resources, including remote equipment reservations and facility scheduling systems. Will also be responsible for facility maintenance, repairs, installations and software updates.
Responsible for equipment purchasing, budgeting and planning while maintaining fiscal compliance. Responsible for monitoring inventory and preparing of annual inventory reports.
Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling and supervision of student workers.
Provides technical instruction and support faculty and students. Instructional activities will include teaching workshops and providing equipment demonstrations.
Produces tutorials, promotional materials, multicamera studio and remote programs. Consults and provides input on course/curriculum development with department faculty.
Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those enumerated above which do not alter the basic level of responsibility of the position.
Bachelor's degree in Communication or a closely related discipline. Three or more years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: studio production/engineering; field production; remote production; post-production; and/or graphic design and animation.
Significant proficiently in verbal, written, and electronic communication. Positive attitude and the proven ability to collaborate with others.
A MS, MA, or MFA in Communication or a closely related discipline (required for adjunct teaching). An ideal candidate will have a proven record of college-level instruction and more than three years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: studio production/engineering; field production; remote production; post-production; and/or graphic design and animation.
In addition, experience with NewTek Tricaster, Canon/Sony camera systems, Mac OS, Adobe Creative Cloud, Final Cut Pro X, Davinci Resolve, and Avid Pro Tools software is preferred.
