CSU Administrative Assistant
Southern Connecticut State University seeks an energetic professional to provide confidential administrative support for two executive positions; the Inaugural Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the Vice President for Finance and Administration. This position performs skilled administrative support to facilitate and enhance the effectiveness of operations of both offices to which they are assigned. Work performed by incumbent will include administrative functions including reception in person and by telephone, compiling and preparing data, maintenance of records and files, managing of confidential materials and contacts, assistance with scheduling meetings and organizing programs, monitoring and reporting on the department budget, ordering all office supplies, and other duties as needed.
Qualifications: A combination of training and experience in a professionally-oriented office setting for a period of at least 3-5 years. First-hand knowledge, understanding, and experience working with diverse and underrepresented populations, preferably in higher education. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, good interpersonal skills with excellent ability in oral and written communication, self-directed, goal oriented and strong organizational skills. Education and/or training which enhances a candidate’s professionalism and familiarity with the collegiate academic environment is preferred.
Some of these qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate alternative experience.
